Wonderful Wednesday

Yesterday was a wonderful day, spiritually. We had our bs/hs meeting (the kids are "schooled" in science and art while the moms have bible study). I look forward to this meeting from the moment I leave until I get to come back. Afterwards we all went out to lunch and then took the kids to a indoor play place that has a specific homeschoolers time. We were able to come home for about an hour and a half before leaving for bible study. The grown-ups are studying Beth Moore's Breaking Free. I've heard that this study has changed lives. In our homeschool bible study we're studying Living Free as well. She has a way of throwing me for a loop, for sure. Zachary really enjoyed his bible study which is a true blessing. In fact, he just told me that he doesn't think he can wait until next week to go back...Praise The Lord! He's really excited to learn the bible verses (Yay!) Jillian was exhuasted after bible study. Even though she took a little nap after we got home in the afternoon, it wasn't enough. When we got home, she couldn't stop crying. Even though she slept in, she's already in a mood this morning. So I will have to be careful on Wednesday's when we have both meetings.

Our homeschool bible study leader gave me a wonderful gift for the kids. It's a book written by the Pastor at the church, Pastor Ron Morgan. It's called "Tiny Talks, A book of Devotions for Young Children". She knew I had been looking for something to introduce the kids to The Lord. What a wonderful gift! She has been a huge blessing in my life.

As I was sitting here trying to think of what verse I wanted to end this post with, I started searching my Bible. I have the New Living Translation, but have several devotionals that are NIV. I expected different translations to change a few words here and there, but was stunned to see how one verse can take on so many different meanings. Granted, overall they mean the same, but if you really take the time to study them, they can take on different meanings. So I will end this with 3 different versions of Colossians 4:2.

Devote yourselves to prayer with an alert mind and a thankful heart (NLT)
Devote yourselves to prayer being watchful and thankful (NIV)
Continue in prayer, and watch in the same with thanksgiving (KJV)
